The International Center held the second career guidance session of this year for international students interested in finding job opportunity in Japan. This session was co-hosted with the Higher Education Center and was held on two separate dates—May 25 (Japanese) and June 1 (English)—based on language preference. A total of seven international students participated.
During the session, Lecturer Okuda from the Higher Education Center and Director Sakane of the International Center provided an overview of the job-hunting process in Japan and explained the career support services offered by the university. Since the job-hunting process in Japan involves a relatively long preparatory phase—including company information sessions and internships—prior to taking entrance exams, managing one’s schedule is crucial. Participants were encouraged to begin gathering information as early as possible and to actively engage in activities aligned with the Japanese schedule.
The Q&A session provided valuable opportunity to have detailed discussions tailored to the individual circumstances of the international students, covering topics such as how to find internship opportunities within Shimane Prefecture and questions regarding residency status.
The International Center is committed to supporting international students in conducting a smooth job search in Japan, with the cooperation of other departments and organizations.
