On December 18th, Minnan Normal Univerisy Online Exchange Event was held.
Shimane University and Minnan Normal University signed an inter-university agreement in 2014 and have continued their collaboration over the years. On this opportunity, we had an online exchange with students taking Japanese language courses at Minnan Normal University.
Prof. Wu of Minnan Normal University gave an opening speech, saying that she was very happy that such exchange event was held and it was a great opportunity for students to interact with each other.
Following the opening remarks, the students had a chance to learn about cultural differences by quizzing each other about Japan (Matsue) and China (Minnan). During the university introductions, students from Minnan Normal University introduced their universities in Japanese, using materials they had prepared to introduce their universities. They also introduced Minnan culture and tea culture, which the Shimane University students listened to with interest. During the free talk session, students asked questions about the differences between tea culture in Japan and China, and what kind of events are held on campus, deepening their connections through Q&A.
The international Center will continue to conduct such exchanges to provide students with a global perspective.
