On November 13, 2025, the International Center held the “Shimadai Short Video Contest” at Global Commons.
Participants were invited to create videos that highlight the unique appeal of Shimane University, particularly its efforts toward internationalization.
Participant Aliffi Majiid (2nd year master's student at the Graduate School of Natural Sciences) submitted a video titled “Shutter Between Light and Shadow” in which he expressed his feelings about his two years at Shimane University as an international student. The judges were greatly impressed by the quality of the video and the depth of the message it conveyed.
After the presentation, a four-member panel of judges reviewed it, and the final evaluation and feedback were delivered by Yoshimi Kataoka, Vice President for Globalization Promotion and chair of the judges for this competition.
Congratulations to Aliffi-san on winning the Grand Prize and thank you to everyone who attended the contest.
