The International Center hosted a Deepavali (Diwali) celebration at Shimane University on October 17th, welcoming students, faculty and staff.
The event began with opening remarks by Vice President Professor Kataoka , followed by a video message from the Embassy of India in Tokyo , highlighting the growing friendship between India and Japan.
Participants enjoyed making Rangoli , tasting traditional Indian sweets and snacks , and sharing chai (tea) in a warm, festive atmosphere.
Professor Sakane, Director of the International Center, delivered the closing remarks, expressing appreciation to all attendees and encouraged all the students to learn about different cultures.
The event concluded with fireworks , symbolizing the light and joy of Diwali.
The International Center extends sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to this meaningful evening of cultural exchange and community spirit.
We look forward to hosting more events where students can learn about different cultures and interact with one another.
