On Monday, June 23rd, the International Center hosted a cultural exchange event between students from Shimane University and students from the University of Arkansas.

The main theme of the event was "What are your favorite things about Japan?" students from Shimane University introduced their favorite places, local sweets, and hobbies. After each presentation, both Japanese and international students engaged in a Q&A session, exchanging impressions and asking questions about what intrigued them.

The exchange continued in a more casual setting, where Shimane University students recommended local spots in Shimane prefecture, and the Arkansas students shared their favorite places in Shimane during their stay and also suggested places to visit in Arkansas.

Popular places introduced by Shimane students included Matsue Vogel Park, Matsue Castle, Adachi Museum, Lake Shinji, and Inome Cave, among others. Meanwhile, the students from Arkansas introduced favorite places from their time in Shimane and recommended destinations in their home state such as Goat Bluff Trail, Beaver Lake, and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.

We would like to thank all participants for joining. We hope the event provided everyone with a fresh perspective on both Japan and the United States.
