The delegation from Minnan Normal University, China visited Shimane University

On June 4th, 2025, we welcomed a delegation from our partner university in China, Minnan Normal University, to Shimane University. The delegation included President of Minnan Normal University, Dr. Zhang Longhai, Dean of the School of Chinese Language and Literature, Prof. Chen Lianjun, and Dean of the School of Law, Prof. He Dongping.
Since the signing of an academic exchange agreement in 2014, Shimane University and Minnan Normal University have developed a wide range of exchanges across various academic fields.

The delegation first participated in a campus tour guided by international students from Minnan Normal University. In addition to visiting campus facilities, they also toured the research laboratories used by the students and had opportunities to learn about their research activities.
After that, they had a friendly discussion with international students, who shared their thoughts on what they’ve learned and how studying abroad has helped them grow.

Later, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Otani Hiroki, President of Shimane University.
Following a warm welcome address from President Otani, President Zhang expressed his appreciation for the hospitality, and shared that, through the earlier discussion with the students, he was once again reminded of the great value of the student exchange program. He added that he hopes to further strengthen the partnership in the future, including through faculty exchanges.

Since Prof. Asada, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Literature, also attended the courtesy visit, our two universities exchanged ideas about potential collaboration in the field of law in the discussion.
Both universities agreed to continue actively promoting exchange programs, aiming to provide more opportunities for students to gain global learning experiences. 
This visit is expected to further strengthen the academic relationship between our two universities and foster even more active collaboration in the future.
