On April 22, the International Center held the Malaysia Alumni Association Meeting.
This meeting was held on the occasion of the visit of Mr. Sia, who graduated from Shimane University 30 years ago.
At the beginning, Ms. Kataoka, Director of the International Center, expressed her gratitude for this opportunity for exchange between current students and former graduates, and all participants introduced themselves.
Mr. Sia introduced himself, saying that he graduated from the Forest Environment Course of the Department of Bioproduction Science in March 1995, worked in Japan afterwards through an introduction by his teacher, returned to Malaysia, worked for a Japanese company, and established a company related to agricultural waste treatment 8 years ago. He said he felt that environmental issues were important, so he learned about resources and agriculture, and when he thought about what he could do, he came up with the business he is currently working on. He explained that the Black Solder Fly absorb organic matter such as food waste and livestock excrement to grow and can be used as livestock feed. In closing, he told the current students that it is very important to do what they can do because anything that starts small will surely lead to something big. The current students asked questions about business and discussed their future plans with him.
The International Center will continue to actively support exchanges between international students.
