From February 1 (Sat.) to February 16 (Sun.), 2025, seven university students from Kerala, India, visited Shimane University as part of a short-term internship training program at IT-related companies in Matsue City and Yonago City.

Mr. Hemanth, Deputy Director of the International Center, delivered a one-hour lecture, after which a staff member from the international office introduced the university and gave a presentation in English, followed by a cumpus tour.

During the introduction, the staff highlighted the attractiveness of Shimane Prefecture and Shimane University using PowerPoint slides.

The tour of the university included a visit to NEXTA, the Next Generation Tatara Collaborative Creation Center, where the students seemed to be interested in the well-equipped facilities and looked over the English materials.

At the museum, which they visited next, they took pictures of the exhibits and listened to the explanations with great interest.

During the tour, they also seemed to enjoy the cold weather, telling us that they were looking forward to snowfall since they had never seen snow before, although they were not fond of cold weather.

Shimane University will continue to actively promote international exchange in cooperation with the local community.
