On October 17, 2024, the signing ceremony of the MOU for the Double Degree Program between Shimane University and Andalas University (Indonesia) was held at the Matsue Campus, and President Hiroki Otani and President Efa Yonnedi of Andalas University signed the agreement.
Students participating in the Double Degree Program will be able to pursue degrees from both universities, providing a great opportunity to broaden their future horizons.
In addition to the presidents of both universities, the ceremony was attended by Vice President Syukri Arief and Prof. Erizal Mukhtar from Andalas University, and Prof.Tsugiyuki Masunaga, Trustee of General Affairs and Planning, Prof.Fumihiko Ito, Dean of Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, and Prof.Makoto Ueno, Dean of Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences from Shimane University.
During the discussion, the two universities reviewed about 30 years of friendship since the signing of MOU in 1997, and exchanged opinions with the aim of further enhancing the exchange in the future.
The signing ceremony was preceded by an introduction of the university and a campus tour by the Shimadai Ambassador. Under a crisp, clear autumn sky, the delegation walked around the campus and toured the museum, library, and other facilities.
