On October 16, 2024, Mr. Chandru Appar, Consul General of India at Osaka-Kobe, paid a courtesy visit to President Otani.
Professor Tatsuyuki Yamamoto and Assistant Professor Hemanth Noothalapati of the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences attended the visit and exchanged opinions on strengthening exchange between Shimane University and India.
President Otani introduced Dr. Hajime Nakamura, an authority in the study of Eastern thought, especially Indian philosophy, whose birthplace is Matsue, and introduced some of his books. Conversation expanded on the longstanding exchange relationship between Japan and India.
We look forward to the further development of exchange between Shimane University and India in the future.
