On May 24(Fri.), the disaster drill was held at the International House Matsue for international students residing in the building. There are currently students from six countries, Japanese student tutor, and 14 students participated in the drill.

During the drill, students first learned the cause of fire accidents and how to act in the event of fire in the lecture given by Matsue Kita Fire Department. Later, they actually made a 119 emergency call. Then, they also did comprehensive drill including emergency reporting, evacuation, evacuation guidance and safety confirmation on the assumption that fire might break out in the kitchen.
Next, the students experienced the magnitude of an earthquake using an earthquake simulation vehicle and felt a tremor of intensity 7.
At the end of the training, the participants received a lecture from the Matsue kita Fire Department, which proved to be a useful exercise for future disaster prevention measures.
