The Center for International Exchange at Shimane University held its Online Study Abroad Fair for Vietnamese students on March 4th,and a total of sixty-six students from Dong Do Japanese language school in Ho Chi Minh joined this event.
This fair was held to attract new foreign students to the university and strengthen the alumni association activities in Vietnam. A professors at Shimane University introduced majors, research, study support such as the scholarships, and the rich nature and convenience of life in Shimane Prefecture.
A Vietnamese student studying at Shimane university also joined the fair, and talked about her experiences in Japan and took questions and answers. Vietnamese students asked questions such as, ”I like making robots, but does the university offer a robotics major?”, ”How many students are in the dormitory?”, “What should I prepare, such as Japanese skills, if I’m interested in the Faculty of Law and Literature?”.
While this was the first time holding the Vietnamese Online Study Abroad Fair, the Vietnamese students were as enthusiastic as during a face-to-face event. Shimane University will continue to support the acceptance of international students through such events.
