The Kano Art Promotion Foundation offered a donation to the Shimane University International Students Support Association, and a reception ceremony was held on December 21st.
The Kano Art Promotion Foundation established the Kano Kanrai Peace International Exchange Fund in 2019 to support organizations engaging in peace-related activities and international exchange activities in Shimane Prefecture. The donation was made with the aim of helping international students studying at Shimane University who are worried about not being able to work part-time or return to their home countries due to the spread of COVID-19.
At the donation reception ceremony, Mr. KANO Jiro, President of the Foundation, explained Kanrai's efforts to help accused war criminals in the Philippines and how Mr. KANO continued Kanrai’s activities with the hope of lasting peace. Mr. KANO also explained that the donation is a part of his activities for world peace, a will he inherited from Kanrai. After that, Mr. CHIBA Ushio, Director of the Yasugi City Kano Art Museum (Kano Kanrai Peace International Exchange Fund Office) presented the donation.
The Shimane University International Students Support Association gratefully received the donation and will make effective use of it for the international students.
