On December 8th, the Job Matching Session of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Shimane and Highly Skilled Overseas Personnel for International Students was held in Matsue City. Approximately twenty international students from Shimane University who are interested in finding jobs in Shimane Prefecture participated in this event.
This event was hosted by the Shimane Federation of Small Business Associations and the Human Support Japan Co., Ltd. with the aim of matching local companies with highly skilled overseas personnel interested in finding jobs in Shimane Prefecture. Various types of companies prepared booths for the participants.
The international students appealed themselves to the companies in various ways: they used Japanese and English to actively better understand the companies, submitted their resumes to companies they were interested in, and expressed their desire to participate in internships. The next day, some students were contacted by companies regarding interviews, which directly lead to opportunities for job hunting. Present at the event were also Japanese students from Shimane University who supported the international students with their language ability by acting as interpreters.
For international students to be able to engage in job hunting smoothly, Shimane University will continue to support them in various ways through events such as the matching session.
