Shimadai Short Video Contest: “Showcase Shimane University's Global Appeal!”

The International Center is hosting the Shimadai SHORT VIDEO CONTEST: “Showcase Shimane University's Global Appeal!” open to all Shimane University students, faculty, and staff. 

Participants are invited to create videos that highlight the unique appeal of Shimane University, particularly its efforts toward internationalization. Outstanding videos will be used in university publicity activities and on social media. 

On the contest day (November 13), submissions from each category will be screened, and the best works will be selected after judging. 

 

【Theme】 

Highlight the appealing points of Shimane University which promotes internationalization. 

(e.g., study abroad, overseas experiences, international student reception, degree programs, campus life, university facilities) 

【Entry Categories】 

1.    Japanese Category: 1–3 minutes 

2.    English Category: 1–3 minutes 

【Prizes】 

•    Grand Prize Winners (one from each category): Original university merchandise 

•    All participants: VIVIT points and a participation certificate 

【Video Specifications】 

•    Resolution (Recommended): 1920×1080 px 

•    Landscape orientation 

•    File format: MP4 

【Submission Guidelines】 

•   Content must be relevant to the theme 

•   Videos containing defamation, discriminatory language, or inappropriate content will be disqualified (and not screened in the contest) 

•    Obtain portrait rights permission from all individuals appearing in the video and use only copyright-free music and images 

•    By submitting a video, participants grant the university permission to use it freely for public relations activities

•    Submission Deadline: October 30 

•    Eligibility Check (by the Staff): November 7 

•    Contest (Open to all students and faculty/staff): November 13

【How to Apply】 

•    Use your Shimane University email address 

•    Upload your video to OneDrive 

•    Send the video link to the International Center at international@office.shimane-u.ac.jp (Include your name and affiliation. Subject line: “SHORT VIDEO CONTEST – Video Title”)
