On Friday, June 27, 2025, as part of the Shimadai Study Abroad WEEK event, Brazil Event was held jointly with the Cultural and International Affairs Division, Environmental Living Department, Shimane Prefectural Government.

Ms. Miura, a Brazilian International Relations from the prefectural government, came to the event and introduced Brazilian history and culture. She also touched on the Brazilian people's personality and food culture, and introduced sweets and coffee eaten in Brazil, which the participants listened to while sipping on sweets and coffee. In the latter half of the program, MIA, a Sophia University student who has studied abroad in Brazil, was invited as an online guest speaker to talk about her life in Brazil. She talked about how studying in Brazil is a very important experience for her because of the country's history of immigration and the mixture of many cultures and customs. Students from Brazil also participated in the program and talked about their roots and the difficulties they had encountered in their life in Japan. The Japanese students who participated in the seminar listened with great interest while taking notes, and it was a valuable opportunity for them to learn about Brazil.

The International Center hopes to hold more events like this in the future to increase students' interest in foreign countries.
