In response to the suspension measures regarding the acceptance of international students at Harvard University announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on May 22, 2025, Shimane University will provide the following support based on our commitment to ensuring that motivated and talented students can continue their academic pursuits.
【Target Students】
Students, including Japanese nationals, who are currently enrolled at a university in the United States (including those who have recently obtained a student visa), or those who have been admitted but were unable to obtain a new student visa.
【Details of Support】
1. Admission Support
- Up to 10 graduate students will be accepted into the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology.
- Admission will be available from October 2025, either through new enrollment or transfer.
- Applicants will be required to undergo an interview (including an oral examination) to assess their academic ability and research potential. An additional screening will be conducted to evaluate research integrity.
Further details will be announced at a later date.
2. Tuition Support
Exemption from tuition and other academic fees.
3. Housing Support
Free university accommodation will be provided.
