On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the International Center at Shimane University hosted a Kendama Workshop featuring professional kendama performer Yasuken as the instructor. The event, which saw 15 participants, was designed to foster interaction between international and Japanese students through the traditional Japanese game of kendama.
Each participant was given a kendama and tried their hand at various tricks, ranging from basic to advanced levels. Although some found it challenging, everyone enjoyed the experience. The workshop concluded with an impressive performance by Yasuken, drawing cheers from the audience as he flawlessly executed high-level tricks.
Kendamas are available in the Global Commons (Room 180, Faculty of Education Building 1F), so don't hesitate to give them a try!
