On February 22, the International Center at Shimane University participated online in the Study in Japan Fair - South America sponsored by Tsukuba University. There were forty-four educational institutions that participated in the event. Each university had five minutes in the informative session to introduce themselves. At the same time, participants had the opportunity to ask questions at the online booths set up by these institutions.
The broadcast of the whole event had around 3,000 views on YouTube, among the interested audience were students and teachers from countries such as Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, and others.
As on previous occasions, International Center directly answered questions over audio and video chat in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Approximately 10 participants pressed a button on the university page to indicate their interest, and were later joined via zoom to make their inquiries.
Many of the questions were admission information, scholarships, English language proficiency tests, Japanese language proficiency tests (JLPT, etc.), specific fields of study, and the English-Japanese Bilingual Education Course.
Through these initiatives, Shimane University has the opportunity to provide detailed information and encourage the students to study abroad. At the International Center we will continue working to reach more interested parties and make our educational community grow even more.
