On March 15, the International Center at Shimane University spoke online with a Japanese language school in Vietnam about students studying abroad. The principal and a teacher from the Japanese language school as well as two International Center faculty members participated in the meeting.
The International Center introduced the faculties that Vietnamese students from Japanese language school can enroll in, and conveyed the charms of Shimane Prefecture, including its rich natural environment and convenient lifestyle. The Japanese language school that participated in this event was established only eight years ago, but more than 500 students have enrolled to date. Most of those students are interested in studying in Japan. However, although students are eager to study in Japan, they are facing many challenges in actually doing so due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has made it difficult for them to enter the country.
This Vietnamese Japanese language school holds university information sessions twice a year, and the International Center will continue to actively participate in such events to provide information to many international students.
