On Tuesday, September 29th, an exchange event was held for international students from Shimane University and IT companies in Shimane Prefecture. Nine students hoping to get a job in Japan visited three IT companies within Shimane Prefecture.
This exchange event was jointly hosted by Shimane University and Shimane Federation of Small Business Associations to lessen the sense of distance between international students and companies and to create an environment of connecting job hunting in Shimane Prefecture. International students visited three IT companies: Will San-in Co., Ltd., Comcre Inc., and Yakumo Software Ltd. At each company, the participants exchanged opinions about job descriptions and desired personnel.
Shimane Prefecture is known as an area with a connection to “Ruby,” a programming language, and there are many branches of not only companies within Shimane but also from all over Japan. Many international students wish to be employed by companies within Shimane after having studied information systems, computer science, programming, and business information. Both international students and companies were able to get to know each other through this event.
Shimane University will hold exchange events with various types of companies to make progress in international students’ job hunting in Shimane.
