Shimane University is currently holding the monthly event titled “SU Global Month” to stimulate university globalization as well as global awareness among students, faculty members and staff. As a part of this event, a gathering among international students and university officers was organized with the purpose to have international exchange between students and officers who do not have much contact with students in their working environment.
On 14 November, international students from Viet Nam and Bangladesh, and 8 young officers of General Affairs Department enjoyed lunchtime gathering over Halal-friendly meal offered by Shimane University COOP. During the gathering, international students introduced their research/study at Shimane University, their daily life in Japan, and their home countries. Officers were trying to communicate in simple and easy Japanese so that international students would easily understand. This gathering made a good opportunity for both parties to know more about each other.
This kind of opportunity will promote officers' awareness of university’s globalization.
