Shimane University Alumni Association Thailand was established as 6th International Alumni Association, following Indonesia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Viet Nam. On March 1st and 2nd, 2019, the kickoff meeting was held in Bangkok, including Vice-president Prof. Dr. Akira Deguchi. In the meeting, participants eagerly discussed about the president selection, communication system as well as its activities.
The number of Thai alumni is 19 and Thai students currently studying at Shimane University is gradually increasing, including 5 enrolled Thai students as of March 2019. In 2017, Shimane University started the program for Japanese students to join an internship at various companies in Bangkok, wishing to strengthen the relationship with Thailand.
Shimane University will be working on enhancing University’s Globalization by strengthening the collaboration with the Shimane University International Alumni Associations in each country.
