On December 17, 2018, Shimane University President Dr. Yasunao Hattori visited Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), India to attend the opening ceremony of CUSAT and Shimane University (Japan) Joint Project Center. The center was established with the aims of becoming the key player of Japanese language education in India as well as promoting Shimane University to stimulate more Indian students to study further at our university. This office launch should promote student exchange and research collaboration between two institutions.
He also made a visit to SCMS Group of Educational Institutions to attend the MoU signing ceremony. After the ceremony, he joined the discussion on student and researcher exchange program.
During his official tour to India, he called at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology where both parties lively exchanged their opinions on research collaborations. A campus tour followed after the discussion.
This official tour to India is expected to encourage more active collaborations with partner universities in various areas.
