TEDxShimaneU 2018 was successfully held on 19th in May, 2018. This event was organized by Shimane University students and was carried out under the support and sponsorship of local companies, Matsue City, San'in Tourism Organization and Shimane University.
This year, a presentation was given by 7 speakers, including the presentation titled "The World of Programming and Language" by Mr. Yukihiro Matsumoto，the developer of the programming language "Ruby", living in Matsue city.
Last year, Shimane University firstly held this event in Chugoku region, and this time was the second time. We are expected that this event will urge the students' ability to disseminate information and the students who have the subjectivity will grow more.
*TEDx is a worldwide talk event with the spirit of “ideas worth spreading”. Cooperators such as universities or regional groups are to have license by TED head office in order to hold events. Since 2009, 25,000 TEDx events have been operated all over the world: about 190 countries and 2,500 cities. Over 100,000 speakers with 103 languages dispatch their idea (Data: December 2017).
