On February 28, 2017, Memorandum of Understanding between Chiang Mai University, Thailand and Shimane University was concluded at Chiang Mai University. The two universities have reached to an agreement while Chiang Mai University wishing for the collaboration based on concrete exchange program and Shimane University seeking to strengthen the partnership with universities in Thailand. Shimane University also plans to launch new short-term problem solution-based overseas training program with the assistance of Chiang Mai University from August, 2017.
The signing ceremony was attended by Chiang Mai University Vice President Rome and Shimane University President Dr. Hattori. After the ceremony, they have lively exchanged their opinions on important role of regional university in local community as well as further collaboration and partnership between two universities.
