Shimane University Alumni Association Sri Lanka was established.

  On December 16th, 2015, the ceremony of establishing Shimane University Alumni Association Sri Lanka was held at Kandy, which is the second largest city in Sri Lanka, and three members from Shimane University including President Dr. Yasunao Hattori, Prof. Hiroaki Ishiga at our Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering, and Prof. Harumi Ao at our Center for International Exchange, attended the ceremony.
  This Alumni Association was established by the great efforts of the graduated students of Shimane University, who are now active as faculty members of University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. It became the third International Alumni Association of Shimane University.
  At the ceremony, the Director of the Alumni Association, Prof. Pitawala at faculty of Engineering of University of Peradeniya addressed that he would like to contribute to development of Sri Lanka more than ever based on what he studied in Shimane University.
  Also, President Dr. Hattori expressed that he would like to enhance the relationship between Sri Lanka and Shimane University on the occasion of the establishment of the New Alumni Association.
  Shimane University will be working on enhancing University’s Globalization by strengthening the collaboration with the Shimane University International Alumni Associations in each country.
