We held the signing ceremony of the academic exchange agreements with Thammasat University, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Princess Chulabhorn’s College Pathumthani and Hanamaru Japanese Language School on September 2nd in Bangkok.
At the ceremony, we had 15 people concerned, including Presidents and vice-Presidents of respective institutions mentioned above.  Four professors from Shimane University also attended at this ceremony, namely President Kobayashi, Dr. Otani, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Hattori, Dean of Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Engineering, and Dr. Ando, Director of Center for International exchanges.   In addition to it, we had famed witnesses consisting of Mr. Mizoguchi, Governor of Shimane prefecture and so on.
These agreements were concluded between each institution and Shimane University, aiming at promoting the widespread relationship in the educational and academic culture, such as exchange of students and teachers, mutual affording of academic information, and collaborative research.
After our ceremony, two agreements concerning the economic partnership between the Ministry of Industry of Thailand and Shimane prefecture, local enterprises in Thailand and Hitachi Metals Ltd., were also concluded.
We are expecting that prefecture-wide international exchanges with Thailand will be further advanced.
