Our students joined the field trip to tour around Matsue city, where Shimane University Matsue campus is located. This field trip is planned and organized by Matsue city for international residents in Matsue to deepen their knowledge and understanding about the city, and then spread their love to overseas including their home countries. This field trip was held twice on 16 and 19 November. More than 20 international students in total from Shimane University joined the tour.

While exploring the city, students visited Matsue's top attractions, such as Matsue castle which has recently been designated as a National Treasure in Japan, Horikawa Pleasure Boat which circle around the castle moat, Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum and so on. At Matsue castle, students received a lecture about its history and construction techniques by a professional guide, and explored inside the castle tower.

They listened to the guide carefully, while taking many pictures of sceneries and exhibited items. All students are happy and satisfied to have learnt about the rich history and culture of the city where they live.
