December 13, 2014, Shimane University had convened the Seventh international Party for the purpose of enhancing mutual understanding and International Exchanges among international students, Japanese students and concerned people. With the support of approx. 200 participants, the party was successfully held.
In part 1, after Dr. Jun Takeuchi, Vice President of Shimane University, made the opening statement, he offered a letter of appreciation to the women’s volunteer group of Shohokudai residents’ association for their contribution to International exchanges between local people and Int’l students. After that, Japanese and int’l students reported on their experiences in programs overseas. After them, some cultural stages of music and dance were performed. At the finale, international students joined in the fashion show with wearing beautiful ethnic traditional cloths.
In part 2, at cafeteria, participants had enjoyed buffet style meal with music and exciting game which was planned by Int’l students’ association of SUISA. Based on the result, Shimane University is furthermore expanding the wave of International Exchanges like this event.
