On May 14th, 7 students led by Dr. David Wong, Assoc. Professor of College of Education, and Mr. Alan Wu, Graduate student of College of Education of Michigan State University visited Shimane University, and made a courtesy call on President Shotai Kobayashi.

Their visit was based on the training program of Michigan State University, which was one of the collaboration project between the two Universities.
President Kobayashi gave them a warm greeting at the beginning of the courtesy call, and then Dr. Wong expressed their appreciation for our accepting their students, and said that he expected not only the students attained a great deal from the various training programs in Shimane, but also they could contribute something to Shimane in return.

The students also expressed enthusiasm for this program. They had interested in the Japanese Students’ Life and their fashion so that they hoped to have a lot to gain through interaction with Japanese students.

The group came to Japan on May 9th. After finishing their training in Kyoto, they move to Matsue on May 14th. They have spent time attending lectures, visiting several schools in Matsue, enjoying cross cultural experiences with Japanese students and host families during their stay in Shimane University. Then, they will take classes and discussions about peace education in Hiroshima, and finish their 3 weeks programs.
